「最も大いなるもの」（１コリント１３章全体）※英語訳つき
《今日のポイント》
１ 最高の道とは何か（１２章３１節後半～３節）
道は、人生を表します。道、それは、命の注がれるべきところともいえる生き方を指しています。
「道・真理・命」の源である主が、教えられた道につながる最高の道とは、いったい何でしょう。
パウロは問いかけています。素晴らしい「賜物」や、豊かな「知識」、完全な「信仰」があっても、「愛」がなければ、何の意味があるだろうか。
２ 愛の賛歌（４～１２節）
愛とは、忍耐強く、情け深く、ねたまず、自慢せず、高ぶらず、礼を失せず、自分の利益を求めず、いらだたず、恨みを抱かず、不義を喜ばず、真実を喜ぶ。そして、「すべてを忍び、すべてを信じ、すべてを望み、すべてに耐える」。「愛は決して滅びない」。
３ 最もおおいなるものは、愛である（１３節）
「それゆえ、信仰と、希望と、愛、この３つは、いつまでも残る。その中で最も大いなるものは、愛である。」（１３節） パウロは、コリント教会のみならず、訪問先の全ての教会に宛てて、牧会的な思いを抱き、かかわりを持つ教会を思いつつ、手紙を書き送りました。コリント１３章は、愛の手紙と呼ばれます。パウロは、時を超え、場所を超えて、あらゆる時代の教会に当てはまるような普遍的な内容となる、神様の愛を持って愛し合うことの勧めを行っています。

1. What is the best path? (Chapter 12, second half of verse 31-3)
The road represents life. Tao refers to the way of life that can be said to be where one's life should be poured.
What is the best path that leads to the path taught by the Lord, the source of ``the way, truth, and life''?
Paul is asking to us. Even if you have great gifts, rich knowledge, and perfect faith, what is the point if you don't have love?
2 Hymn of love (verses 4-12)
Love is patient, compassionate, not jealous, not boastful, not proud, not disrespectful, not seeking self-interest, not irritated, not holding grudges, not rejoicing in unrighteousness, and rejoicing in the truth. And "bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, endure all things." "Love never dies."
3. The greatest thing is love (verse 13)
"Therefore, faith, hope, and love, these three things will remain forever. The greatest of these is love." (verse 13) Paul spoke not only to the church in Corinth, but also to all the places he visited. He wrote a letter to the church with pastoral concerns and thoughts of the church he was involved with. Corinthians 13 is called a love letter. Paul has been exhorting us to love one another with God's love, a universal content that transcends time and place and applies to the church of all ages.
